It doesn't get much better than this. Presented is rare and desirable 1984-85 Star #101 Michael Jordan rookie card. This cardboard treasure is graded BGS 8.5 with a GEM MINT 10 Autograph! That’s right … this is not only one of sports memorabilia’s most sought-after pieces but it has been signed by perhaps the greatest athletes of our generation. Collectors will tell you that this is Jordan’s first “true” rookie card and is scarcer and more condition sensitive than the 1986-87 Fleer #57. (Though the Fleer card is technically considered his rookie card, this example predates the Fleer card by two years!) This card was part of a 288-card set released in three series during the first five months of 1985 by Star Company. The set is comprised of team sets issued in clear sealed bags. Many of these team bags were distributed to hobby dealers via a small group of distributors, with reportedly only 3,000 bags printed for each team.
Another extremely rare signed 84-85 Star Michael Jordan #101 rookie card of the same 8.5 grade sold recently at auction for over $26,000.
