World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes has signed this original (expired) passport in blue ballpoint pen. Additionally, he has signed and handwritten his address on the "International Certificates of Vaccination" document stapled inside the passport, also in blue ballpoint pen.
Issued in 1974 and expiring on June 11, 1980, this passport includes the period when Holmes faced Ken Norton on June 9, 1978, in a historic and competitive bout. After fourteen rounds, the judges scored the fight dead even, but Holmes rallied late in the fifteenth round, winning on two scorecards and claiming the WBC heavyweight title by split decision.
The passport, when closed, measures 4 x 6 inches and is in excellent vintage condition, with strong and clear handwriting.
