Allen Iverson lived up to the hype of being the No. 1 overall pick of the 1996 NBA Draft, turning out to be an all-time great at the point guard position. He paid dividends right off the bat, winning the Rookie of the Year award by averaging 23.5 points and 7.5 assists per game. Iverson led the league in scoring four times, has his No. 3 retired by the Philadelphia 76ers franchise and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. On the front left tail is a “Champion” distributor’s tag that reads, “DESIGNED & TAILORED 95-96 EXCLUSIVELY FOR PHILADELPHIA 76ERS BODY LENGTH + 2”. This jersey was a carryover from the previous season. Adjacent is a “Champion” size “42” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. On the left inseam is a tag that reads, “100% NYLON”. On the left chest is the official “NBA” logo embroidered. During the 1996-97 season, the official “NBA” logo was usually embroidered in gold-stitching aside from some rare documented examples with it embroidered in red, white and blue stitching. Across the chest reads, “SIXERS” in white on red on blue on white tackle twill. The player number “3” appears on both the front and on the back in blue on white tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name, “IVERSON” in white tackle twill sewn directly onto the red mesh jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
