Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway wore this Denver Broncos white road jersey in multiple games during the 1994 NFL season. Please not that this is the only photomatched Elway jersey to ever be sold at public auction according to our research. Specifically, we have ascertained that the jersey was worn as the Broncos squared off against the Kansas City Chiefs on December 4, 1994, at Arrowhead Stadium, snaring a 20-17 win. (In the third quarter, Elway threw a 24-yard pass to Shannon Sharpe). Less than two weeks later, on December 17, Elway again donned this very jersey as Denver traveled to San Francisco to take on the 49ers at Candlestick Park. The jersey is appropriately tagged with Elway’s number “7” on the chest, back, and sleeves, and his name across the back. In our opinion the jersey shows exceptional signs of appropriate game use, including huge field paint stains that couldn’t be completely removed from washing, and a giant rectangular repair on the back of the jersey to the left of the “7”. The jersey is accompanied by a MeiGray LOA, a DVD from the Chiefs game along with a 1994 Broncos Season Highlights DVD, a few printed 8x10 photographs, and the original newspaper clippings from the game used sports auction where the jersey originated.

No quarterback has ever won more games (198) or pulled out as many games in the fourth-quarter (47) as John Elway did in his 16-year NFL career. With five Super Bowl appearances to his name (including back-to-back victories in 1997 and 1998), Elway threw for over 51,000 yards and had 300 touchdowns. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
